show and tell: part of my collection

I was trying to figure out what to bring in as an example of one of my collections all week. I really don't think of myself as a collector. I was looking around the house not finding anything. I walked into my closet room and it hit me. I have hundreds of pieces of clothing. And my closet is filled with handbags, scarves and other tidbits, but I pride myself on my shoe shelves. So, I brought in shoes. I have at least a hundred shoes. Some of which I've never worn. When I see an adorable shoe, I just have to have it!

actual size

I found this advertisement the other day while leafing through ESPN while waiting to get my oil changed. It's a Nikon ad for the D40. I thought it was really interesting and picked it out immediately. Initially I picked it out because of it's irregular size. In the end I took it with me because I loved that on the back it says the cutout is actual size. I thought it was very clever.

chicken scratches

It was tricky trying to figure out the pages for my process brochure. Finally I had to get out some ruled paper and do the old school method of this goes here and this goes here. I figured it out in the end. Here are my scratchings. I think it's interesting to see the process of anything. And since this was a process assignment, here's part of the process I went through in doing it.

show and tell: something i've been dying to share

I haven't exactly been dying to share this, but I've been waiting to go off to paradise to get married. So, here are a few shots of the big day.

missed crit

I wasn't in class last week to watch the final versions of the iMovies. Or to get feedback. Here's my final version. Any thoughts you have about ways to make it better would be much appreciated!

tabulous

Things have been a little busy at work this week. The Sun launched its new sports tab this Sunday. It's been a lot to get used to. The "magazine-like" style is much more design intensive that the old broadsheet format. But, it is fun.

I got to take my first crack at designing the cover last night. Here's how it came out.

I'm interested to see what you all think of the new tab (if you've seen it). If you haven't, you really should check it out. This is beginning to sound like a plug, but, really, you should make an effort to take a peek.

online magazines

Could online magazines be the future? These are two sites you can browse online magazine: zinio.com and magazine.org. Do you think online magazines will replace print magazines in the future?
